Privacy policy

Last updated: 16 June 2026

This policy explains what personal data Blkswan collects when you use this site or get in touch, why I collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Who I am

Blkswan is a one-person web design studio based in Lincolnshire, UK. For the purposes of UK data protection law, Blkswan is the data controller for the personal data described here.

Trading name: Blkswan. [CONFIRM: registered business name and structure — e.g. sole trader / limited company and number]. [CONFIRM: postal address]. [CONFIRM: ICO registration number, if registered].

Questions about this policy or your data? Email info@blkswan.co.uk.

What I collect

When you enquire

If you email me or send an enquiry, I receive the details you choose to share: usually your name, email address, and whatever you write in your message.

When you book a call

The "Book a 15-minute call" button takes you to HubSpot Meetings, a third-party scheduling tool. When you book, HubSpot collects your name, email address and the time you choose, and shares those booking details with me. Your use of that page is also covered by HubSpot's privacy policy.

Technical data

Like most websites, the server hosting this site may record standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view, for security and to keep the site running. [CONFIRM: web host and whether server logs are retained].

This site loads fonts from Google Fonts and a few code libraries from a content delivery network (cdnjs). To deliver these files, those services receive your IP address. No analytics or advertising trackers are used on this page. [CONFIRM: update this if you add analytics, e.g. Google Analytics or a cookie banner].

Cookies

This page does not set its own tracking or marketing cookies. If you follow the booking link, HubSpot may set cookies on its own pages, governed by its policy. If a cookie-based tool is added to this site later, this section and a cookie notice will be updated.

Why I use your data, and the legal basis

I do not sell your data, and I do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Who I share it with

I only share personal data with the service providers needed to run the studio, and only as far as they need it:

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to protect it to UK-equivalent standards.

How long I keep it

I keep enquiry and project data only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, then delete it. Enquiries that don't lead to work are removed once they're no longer relevant. Records tied to paid work are kept as long as needed for legal and accounting reasons. [CONFIRM: specific retention periods, e.g. accounting records kept 6 years].

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, email info@blkswan.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though I'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page with a new "last updated" date.
